Research Methods Instructor
I teach a course in Research Methods at The Polytechnic School. The Polytechnic School is part of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University.
In this course, students learn about research methodologies and the process of conducting and reporting a research study using standard research practices.
Research Methods teaches students how to:
Identify the different research approaches and study designs.
Describe and follow the research process.
Perform a literature review.
Develop a research problem statement.
Discuss variables and hypotheses.
Design data collection instruments.
Collect and analyze data.
Write study findings and conclusions in a research report.
The course gives students an understanding and working knowledge of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research.
